STS was appointed for the Electrical & Instrumentation fit-out of two production buildings, MV Substations, utility buildings and generators in the new Biogen Biopharmaceutical campus. This Biogen facility in Luterbach, near Solothurn, is a state-of-the-art bio-medical facility that brings Biogen’s latest progress in biologics manufacturing technology to reality. The facility combines Biogen’s latest technology in terms of fed-batch cell culture technology and high-performance purification. In addition to production facilities, the plant will also house laboratories, office space, utility buildings and a warehouse.

The scope of work included the following:

• Complete electrical, instrument and BMS installation.
• Provide and install primary/secondary containment systems.
• Provide and install all power, control and signal cables.
• Provide and install lighting fixtures and general services.
• Install stick build instrumentation.
• Provide and install of 5MVA generators.
• Provide and install of transformers.
• Provide and install of MV Switchgear.
• Provide and install clocks.
• Provide and install Earthing systems.
• Provide testing and commissioning services.
• Provide and install fire alarm cables and install detection devices.
• Provide and install IT system cabling.
• Install all BMS Instrumentation.
• Assembly of vendor skids.
• ESTI Certification and SINA sign off.
