Visit to Bristol Myers Squibb EU Cell Therapy Facility project, Leiden, Netherlands

STS Group were thrilled to have students from TU Dublin visit the Bristol Myers Squibb CAR T Cell Therapy Production Centre project in Leiden, Netherlands.

This new manufacturing facility will be BMS’s first CAR T cell therapy production centre in Europe and fifth in the world. It will house the latest technology and production equipment, dedicated to personalised treatments for European cancer patients.

The students are currently studying for a BSc in Quantity Surveying, it was a fantastic opportunity to walk the site with them showcase the project progress to date on this large-scale biopharmaceutical facility. It was a pleasure to have the TU Dublin Lecturers Alan Hore, Tony Cunningham, Roy Byrne, Fiarcra McDonnell and Seamus Harrington accompany the students on their visit.

We would like to commend Sisk Project Manager Daire Greene and his team for for facilitating us throughout the duration of the visit.

Our sincere thanks to BMS Project Director Derek Finn for joining us at an offsite breifing to share a powerful overview of the project, detailing the unique pioneering technology that will be used at the facility and the life changing affects it will bring to cancer patients in Europe with certain aggressive blood cancers.

Lastly, we extend thanks to the the STS Group Site Team, John Hanley, Fergal Condon, Conor Ahern and Denise Walsh, for all their help and support in making this visit possible.
