Farranrory Wind Farm, Tipperary, Ireland

Farranrory Windfarm comprises of 9 wind turbines, construction of new site entrances, upgrade of existing site entrances, upgrade of existing access tracks and provision of new site access tracks; internal windfarm underground power and communications cabling and the construction of a new on-site 38kV substation. STS Group has been appointed the EBOP contractor responsible for the construction, commissioning and handover of the 38kV substation.

The scope of this project includes:

  • Preparation and Submittal of BCAR documentation.
  • Electrical & Civil Design of a 38kvsubstation, Wind turbine connector cable routes (Cable Installation Only), transformer bay and client control building.
  • Installation of all MV cabling and terminations to Wind turbines.
  • Procurement, Installation and Commissioning of 38kV switchgear.
  • Designing, Supplying, and carrying out the earthing of the Turbine Bases.
  • Construction of the Substation, along with an access road to the Substation.
  • Switching plans, progress reports, commissioning plans and oversight of electrical safety procedures
  • Commissioning and handing over to the 38kV Substation to the client
  • Commissioning and handover Client Control Building to the client
