Today is the first day of Construction Safety week, STS Group have planned a full week of workshops and activities across our sites and offices to reflect on health, safety and overall well-being and promote the importance of each aspect throughout the workplace.
Day 1 focuses on Mental Health & Wellbeing in Construction. Mental health in Construction is often considered a silent safety issue, a taboo and something one should hide. With the onset of winter, shorter days and darker evenings, this time of year can be challenging for all of us.
STS Group have teamed up with Pieta House to help remove the stigma that is attached to mental health and actively promote better mental health and wellbeing.
Evidence proves there is a strong and positive link between being physically active and good mental wellbeing. As such, STS Group participated in FeelGood with Pieta in conjunction with Goldstone Fitness. FeelGood week runs from 14th -27th October with the aim of encouraging individuals to connect, be active and feel good. A team of individuals from STS Group Head Office took part in a 45-minute Spinning Class and raised €860. Take a look at our gallery to see how the team got on.
STS Group are proud to have supported Pieta House since 2017. Pieta House is a completely free and confidential service which offers one-to-one counselling for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, engaging in self harm and those bereaved by suicide.
We would like to take this opportunity to say huge thank you to Goldstone Fitness who very generously donated their Spin Zone and to Ruth Hannon for coordinating the class.
